TUESDAY - 27th June 2006

We will be CLOSED the long holiday weekend, from Saturday, July 1st until Wednesday, July 5th. Customers wishing to collect their MGs can do so from now until Friday!

My personal MG library contains a number of duplicate books. I have a small selection of them on eBay right now, ending this coming Sunday evening, July 2nd. Some are technical books, some are "coffee table" books. If you're looking to expand your MG library, please consider my books!

Last week we dispatched eleven projects: an 80 MGB/LE, a russet brown 80 MGB, a white 79 MGB, some MGA brake cylinders, a TD diff conversion, a 71 MGB, another 80 BLE, a sixty something Morgan, another 79 MGB, a late model MGB, and something else.... The longest time in the shop was 170 days, the shortest was a "will wait." The median time in the shop was 14 days.

Speaking of T type differential conversions, we do those for around $1200. We change the 5.125 or 4.875 to a 4.3. This makes for a wonderful engine speed while cruising on the Xway -- something aroudn 3500 instead of 4500! We have a customer who has one in stock -- so if you need one, drop me a note.

We are getting very close on our next Goldstar product -- the MGA remote control, which is always well worn (or worse). These rebushed housings will reduce the wobble in your gear lever and sometimes quiets up the swish from the gearbox. More information soon.

I shall begin posting pictures again soon.

Just a note -- the week AFTER the Independence Day week I shall be at Boy Scout camp all week. The shop will be open, of course, and the rest of the staff will be on duty. When you call, you'll want to speak with Lisa or Caroline.

THURSDAY - JUNE 1st 2006

We have had quite an eventful several months since my last post! First, my wife Caroline's father passed away in January, followed just a month later by my mother in late February. Those deaths set us back, naturally, and we're just catching up now.

There was no springtime in Grand Rapids this year. It went from frost on the roof last week Tuesday morning to a 90+F Memorial Day weekend. We have about 35 MGs, Triumphs, and Austin Healeys in the shop right now. We are working, feverishly, to get them done!

The oldest project dates from last October, the newest from just yesterday. The pictures is from last week.

Stay tuned!

NO EARLY SUMMER PICNIC

Our Early Summer Picnic, usually scheduled for the Sunday after Memorial Day, this year on June 4th, will not be held, deferring to the all MG event in Tennessee. For any MG owner not yet aware of this massive event, log onto www.mg2006.com
