While Curt is nearly done with the TF, we're waiting on a header bar to fit the top. In the meantime, he's begun the bodywork on the TC. We had Tom Simmons rebuild the coachwork -- replacing pieces or repairing pieces as he went. Now Curt is bending metal and/or repairing the old pieces. This is a tedious process. I'm about to order some body lead this morning so we can smooth over the welds and fix the cowl to the side panels as originally done.
James Twist is shown here removing the "FOR SALE" board from the vestibule of University Motors. In the course of 15 years at this location, there have been scores of purchases and sales made through this bulletin board. Additionally, the "NEWS" board has come down, too. The last picture posted to that was of Britney Spears posing next to an MGA in a "Back to School" campaign -- the picture was published in USA today.
John spent the day trying, unsuccessfully, to stop an oil leak from the front of a TD. He's now ordered up a speedi-sleeve for the front pulley, as well as a new oil seal and gasket. Later he worked on a wiper wheelbox for the TF -- converting a Y type wiper box (or maybe it was a Wolseley?) into the proper piece.
